Strengthening the EU-UK relationship: concrete solutions for consumers
Published on 12.05.2025
About this publication
Consumers in both the EU and UK are facing a wave of shared challenges: from scams and unsafe products to high food prices and travel disruptions. Ahead of the 19 May EU–UK Summit, BEUC, the Consumer Council for Northern Ireland, and Which? are publishing joint recommendations strengthening consumer cooperation between the two sides.
The paper highlights how closer collaboration on key issues, such as product safety, food standards, roaming, and dispute resolution, would make a real difference in consumers’ daily lives. It urges policymakers to put consumer interests at the centre of future EU–UK dialogue.
